About Me

Howdy there, I’m Hailey Smith, I’m 16 years old and currently a Junior and Galesburg Junior Senior High School! I am involved in Theater, Choir, Vocal Jazz, Colorguard, Fearlessly Girl, and Youth group at both Bethel Baptist Church and The Ascent. I am currently employed at the Knox County Family YMCA as a lifeguard and swim lessons instructor. I have been to multiple honor choirs over the last 5 years, including Bradley and WIU, but the biggest one of all that I have been to is ILMEA, and I am one of the few students who have gone every year since 7th grade (which is the first year you can audition). I love trying new things, and once I commit to something, I stay committed. I'm a very strong believer that if you choose to take part in something, everyone else is counting on you to show up, and quitting just hurts them more than it does you. I have been a swimmer on the Knox County Krocs since I was 4. I recently had to stop swimming because I fractured my back. I chose to sign up for the CEO Program because of my cousin, Camden Cox. You may remember him from last year, but I got to see all the amazing things he did from a different perspective and wanted to do the same. I can't wait to see what Jeremy has in store for us. I have always loved public speaking and talking in front of people, as most people who know me well know. I love talking, so I've always been good at talking in front of crowds and have been very comfortable with it. But for the people who aren't as comfortable with it as Jeremy always says, “Be comfortable with the uncomfortable”.
